Fresh Start Dane Rescue's Mission statement and goal is "Save one 'til there are none". FSRD has been in operation since 2008, with a team of 8 members, with a combined experience of in excess of 35 years working with Great Danes

We rescue Danes from all over NB, NS, PEI. We have an adoption process that each individual or family must go through prior to recieving a dane from us. We have an adoption form that must be filled out, references are checked two references are required plus your vet as well. We also do homechecks, one of our members will come to your home and do a interview also answer any questions you may have with regards to re-homing a Great Dane. One of our biggest requirements is you must have a fenced yard. Our Danes are not to be tied out on a rope, or chain, or any sort of tie out device. Leashes are used for their daily walk and for training not to tie out on. We charge a $250 dollar fee to adopt a Great Dane to help cover the Dane's initial vet check, spay/neuter, and any extra care needed to bring the dane to a rehomable state.
